Growing up in Illinois, Jim received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. Joseph’s College in Indiana in 1963. Jim went on to earn his Juris Doctorate in 1966 from Marquette University Law School in Wisconsin. Upon graduation, Jim began his professional career as an attorney in Wisconsin before relocating with his family to Arizona in 1969.
In Arizona, Jim worked for Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Warren McCarthy, gaining admission to the State Bar of Arizona in 1970. He is a past President of the Prescott Estate Planning Council and was a Founding Member and the initial Advisory Board Chairman of Yavapai County Community Foundation. Jim is a past Executive Council Member of the State Bar of Arizona, Probate & Trust Law Section; and was a Founding Member of the State Bar of Arizona’s Estate & Trust Specialization Certification Advisory Commission. He is also admitted to the United States District Court, District of Arizona and the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.
For over 50 years, Jim’s major areas of practice have included representing clients in estate administration and probate-related litigation matters involving wills, trusts, conservatorships, guardianships, elder law, real property law and other areas of law pertinent to such cases.
